Hand Stitched Wool Bell Pull

$42.00

This is a hand stitched wool hand pull from 1970 as indicated in the inclusion of the year in the embroidery.  Colors are browns and tans, blues, greens, white and rust colors.   The embroidery is mounted on a wrought iron hanger on both ends ready to display on your wall. It’s in great shape with no stains, tears or unraveling.

Originally, the “klokkestreng” was used as a pull to ring the steeple bells and also in larger manor homes to ring a bell to summon the servants. As the call systems in homes were updated, the now obsolete bell pulls have become decorative objects.

The bell measures approx 42″ tall including the hanger, and 6.5″ wide. The embroidery piece itself is 37″ tall. It weighs just 15.5oz.  It is backed with canvas.
