In Os Rosemaling style, the wooden plate is initialized on the back by the artist, G.F., and dated 1979. For 45 years in age, this plate is in great shape!
The background is left in natural wood allowing the beautiful wood grain characteristics to show though. Os style Rosemaling originates from the west coast of Norway. It features abstract flowers and geometric shapes with heavy line-work and C- and S scrolls. On this plate, green, brown and orange scrolls emanate from an orange flower. Accents in cream and brown colors add dimension to the flower pattern. Brown scrolls surround the edge of the pattern.
The artist is obviously skilled – strokes are strong and confident, the symmetry is pleasing and the colors are in total harmony.
The plate is 9″ across and stands 1.75″ tall. It weighs around 9.5oz. The plate has a hanger ready for your wall.
