Telemark-style rosemaling is asymmetrical with its signature c-scroll growing from a root with intertwining s- and c-scrolls emerging out out it. Flowers are fantasy like surrounded by embellishments an accents.
This wooden bowl is medium-sized at 8.5″ in diameter and 2.25″ tall. Dark maroons and browns with mustard-colored flower elements are painted on a typical Norwegian blue color. Cream and black accents bring depth, and a black accent border surrounds the top of the inner rim. The bowl has a blue outer edge around the top and with a classic Norwegian red bottom.
The piece is signed by the artist with initials H.T.B but is not dated.
There are some very small signs of wear but no scratches or dents that we can see. For a used, older item, the bowl is in great shape!
All of our gently used items are hand selected and purchased in Norway, then lovingly packed up and shipped to us for sale in the US.
