Decorative wooden spoons are often hung on kitchen walls in Norway. This spoon has the most beautiful Telemark-style Rosemaling in deep rusts and green colors, with accents in dark brown and white. The black accents are full of details that give the artwork a intricated depth. The handle is also decorated with writing that says “Norge 1974” – Norway 1974.
The artwork is signed by the artist. The signature is hard to read as it’s small but looks to say “Stein”. See the photo of the signature.
The spoon is 15″ long and 3.75″ wide at the widest. It’s just under 1″ deep, and weighs 3.5oz. It’s in very good shape considering it’s 50 years old; we can’t find any dents, stains or scratches.
