Sadly, sometimes items suffer damage on their way from Norway to Florida. This is the case with this wooden Rosemaling plate. There’s a crack running halfway across a part of the plate. We’ve repaired it but the crack is still slightly visible if you look for it. Please see the photo of the repaired crack.
The plate is gorgeous with bright colors of blues, reds, yellows, rust and greens with accents in brown. The Rosemaling style is Telemark and the artist was obviously very skilled – strokes are powerful and confident. It looks like there is a nail in the back from when the plate was hung on a wall. Whether on your wall or on your table, this piece will certainly get compliments!
The plate is 10.5″ in diameter and 1.5″ tall. It weighs just under 10oz. The back is unfinished wood while the front is lacquered.
