Mid-Century Norwegian Porcelain Platter / Trivet

$24.00

Norwegian Figgjo was established in 1941 and is renowned for its quality porcelain tableware.  This platter called “smørefjøl” is large enough for a slice of wonderful Norwegian bread for you to butter and top with cheese.  It features a design by Turi Gramstad Oliver in a series called “Mons og Mille”.  Turi started her career at Figgjo in 1960 and worked there for twenty years.   Several different designs in the series were made and we currently have 6 designs available.

If you prefer, you can hang the platter on your wall – there’s a convenient hole at the top – which is what many Norwegians did.

The platter is 6″ tall and 4″ wide at the top.  It weighs 5.7oz.   It’s 60+ years old and in remarkable condition with no chips or crazing we can see.
