Blue Tones Rosemaling Plate

$42.00

This is an elegant wooden Rosemaling plate in beautiful tones of blue and beige.  It’s signed by the artist M.E. but there’s no date.

The Rosemaling is Telemark-style with the traditional S- and C-curves with flowers emanating out of the scrolls.  The background is a slate blue color with a green rim with cream colored accents.  The scrolls and flowers are done in light blues and creams and whites.  Accents are in black and cream.  This is a Rosemaling piece where you can clearly see the Rococo influence – in fact, you could imagine a pattern like it in Maria Antoinette’s boudoir.

We’re guessing the plate is 30+ years old, but it’s in good shape with no major scratches or dents.

The plate is 9.5″ in diameter and weighs just over 7 ounces.
