This green wooden Rosemaling plate got bumped in transit from Norway and has a small crack in it. Please see the close-up photo. We’ve therefore discounted the plate from the $79 we’d charge normally to $39. The crack is visible if you look for it, but not terribly noticeable.
The plate is in a subdued green color with brown S- and C-scrolls that is typical to Telemark Rosemaling. Flowers are in contrasting reds, greens and tans. Accents are brown and cream.
The back is signed by the artist, Malt K. Strøm and dated ’74 so it’s 50 years old this year. There are some scratches, imperfections in the wood and signs of wear on the back and a mount for wall hanging.
The plate is 12″ in diameter and weighs 1lb 4 ounces.
