Pewter Candlestick Holders – Set of Two

$36.00

There is nothing more Norwegian then candles!  Maybe it’s the long winter nights but Norwegians just love their candles.  In fact, they even have a word about that coziness candles bring; koselig.  Read about koselig here!

Another Norwegian tradition is pewter.  Pewter, or tin, goes back to the Viking times.  Much cheaper than silver, ancient artisans used  high quality pewter for beautiful functional art, and even today, pewter items in one form or another are still found in most homes in Norway.

We bring you a set of pewter candlesticks holders from Selbu in Norway.  These candlesticks stand approx 3″ tall and are 3″ at their widest in the base.   Mid century modern in design, the candlesticks feature the Selbu Rose – an eight-petal rose – which is a classic Norwegian folk art motif.  Each candlestick weighs 9oz and have blue velvet on their bases to protect your table.  Candle sizes they accommodate are 3/4″ wide, or a tea light can be placed over the candle hole.

Bring some koselig to your life with these lovely candlestick holders!

PS – If you want to go “all out” for Selbu, this bell pull tapestry features the famous Selbu pattern with the 8-petal flower.
